Cher Ami, the Iconic World War I Carrier Pigeon, Makes His Debut at Carnegie Hall
A treasured Smithsonian artifact is reputed to be the heroic savior of the embattled âLost Battalionâ on the Western Front

Carnegie delight
WE feel "Saturday Night Live's" Stefon would have enjoyed this. New York's hottest club was Carnegie Hall and its "November 1918: The Great War and the Great Gatsby." This place had everything: "Hamilton" conductor Ian Weinberger, a decorated homing pigeon name Cher Ami and a 58-piece orchestra playing Stevie Wonder songs. Historian John Monsky put together the multimedia spectacular. Katie Couric (above) and Christine Ebersole caught the one-night-only performance. How exclusive!
